In Memory

Jeanie Clark

Jeanie Clark died on February 26, 2008 after a two month illness.  I had known Jeanie for many years, my first real acquaintance with her back in 1956, dancing with her at a farewell dance at Havens as we prepared to graduate.  When I first became active in reunion activities in 1992, she was a tremendous help in tracking down missing classmates, finding nearly 20 who otherwise would have been lost forever.  I continued to be in touch until her passing and looked forward to talking to her when she called.

She was active in many areas and edited a cook book, A Chicken in Every Pot, a book on 20 Questions, and contributed a column to the Piedmont Post in its early years.  She had many hobbies – needlepoint, collecting stuffed animals, videos and DVDs.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, tennis and travel.  Most recently, she was a volunteer at Rounseville Rehabilitation Center.  And she was active in Piedmont Community Church.  She is survived by a number of first cousins.

We will all miss Jeanie, who we last saw at our 45th Reunion.  In July, I went through the family home, cleaned and stripped of all furnishings and being sold, and was left with the memory of her, and her mother and dad.
